We’re having a girl!

I’m getting emotional simply typing this… it’s a GIRL!

Patrick and I have been on cloud nine since our gender reveal party last weekend when we found out our little nugget is team pink. [Give me all the bows, y’all!]

My husband has always been very passionate about playing golf and he knew from the second we found out we were expecting that he wanted to hit a golf ball to learn the gender.

Going into the weekend, we were really nervous because it was a 100% chance of rain, but Mother Nature pulled through and there wasn’t a drop in the sky when the time came to hit that ball. [It was prettttty darn cold though, but I’m not complaining.]

It was the most surreal feeling watching the golf ball burst into a pink cloud of smoke. I had a strong feeling it was a little girl, but actually finding out was the coolest experience. To be honest, I really didn’t care to have a gender reveal celebration, but Patrick thought we’d regret it if we didn’t, and I’m so glad I listened to him.

We were both adamant on not knowing the results going into the reveal, which made it so much more fun when we got to experience the surprise in front of our closest friends and family. [My dad cried and it was the sweetest thing.]

I’m so grateful to one of my best friends, Jessie, who volunteered to order the golf ball for us. I gave her the sealed envelope with the results directly after our anatomy scan, and she did a great job keeping her lips sealed, not telling anyone whether it was a boy or girl. She had to keep the results all to herself for TWO WEEKS. It was a tough job, which I’m sure she’ll never volunteer to do again – haha! [Love you, Jessie!]

Instead of a traditional pink/blue-themed gender reveal party, we decided to host a holiday brunch, celebrating the most wonderful time of the year.

Christmas for sure came early in the Burk house with the sweetest gift of them all!

A special thanks to all of our loved ones who helped us celebrate. Patrick and I couldn’t be more excited to start our family by welcoming a little girl into the world.
