My maternity photos

I’m so excited to share several pictures with y’all after having some maternity photos taken last week.

For months, I’ve been going back and forth about taking maternity photos, feeling unsure about spending the money but also wondering if I would regret not having them. That all changed when my friend, Katie, sent me a message on Instagram about a local photographer, Jacey Verhoef, who was looking for a pregnant mama willing to pose for some pictures.

I LOVED working with Jacey. She instantly makes you feel at ease in her beautiful studio located in downtown Roswell. Her studio is within walking distance of Ivy Hall at the Roswell Mill, which is where Patrick and I had our wedding reception. [Meant to be.]  Jacey takes gorgeous natural light photos, capturing memories of all types of life milestones.

For our session, I had two looks: a beautiful white lace dress from PinkBlush Maternity, and a pink gown from Amazon. We took several photos in each dress in front of a large window overlooking Atlanta Street. She also snapped some more intimate shots of me in the white dress, sitting on a bed. [The bed photos are my absolute favorite.]

Throughout my entire pregnancy, I’ve tried to take many bump shots of myself, but there’s just something special about having professional images. I actually haven’t had any since my wedding in 2015.

Let me just say, I love all of my maternity photos. [Call me a narcissist, but I’m kinda obsessed with them… sorry, not sorry!]. I’m currently loving this point in my pregnancy, too – 7 months along, so I think it was a great time to have the pictures made.

Thank you so much, Jacey, for this awesome opportunity. I’ll cherish these images forever. Also, I think my daughter will one day love getting to see her mama all done up as I anxiously awaited her arrival. [Oh no, now I’m crying.]
